Sharing Good Practice was held on Friday May 20 at the William Angliss Conference Centre, Melbourne. The day went well and we would like to acknowledge and thank the presenters and all who attended and contributed on the day. Sue Ollerhead gave an interesting address and we were all moved by the images of World Soccer in South Africa.
Once again the catering and venue were excellent thanks to Manny and Andrew and their team.
Daniel Nistico provided lovely classical guitar and can be contacted at niticdan@hotmail.com
Resources from the day will be added to the website as they become available.
We plan to take some of the workshops to regional centres in the Spring. If you are interested in hosting a workshop in your town or regional city contact VALBEC.

Sessions are being finalised with presenters right now and sessions will be added to the website as they are confirmed with speakers.
'Transitions and Transformations', Sep 26, 2011
A full day of activity will precede the main conference. More than a dozen speakers will discuss issues about the literacies that learners encounter when making the transition from one sector to another. The needs of changing cohorts of students moving between sectors are becoming more critical for the development of educational pathways. The forum will share emerging understandings and practices for engaging with this challenge.
Speaker and session details at http://www.valbec.org.au/2011conf/forum-speakers.htm
Deadline June 24, 2011
In this edition we will solicit contributions from teachers, students, theorists, policy makers and researchers. We want to reflect on the challenges and successes of the field, with a cross section of articles which will, we hope, celebrate the place of Numeracy in our field.
