4. Gambling Education Program
CAE is calling for Expressions of Interest from ACE Providers to participate in the rollout of a Gambling Education Program for students aged 16-24 years, enrolled in the VCAL/CGEA curricula. Phase 2 of the Big Deal Project involves the ‘rollout’ (to at least 20 ACE/TAFE Providers) of an Implementation Guide and Message Maps to enhance the Trainer Kit previously developed in Phase 1. This Kit includes a trainer guide, DVD with three problem-gambling scenarios, and a CD with a digital story telling project. These resources have been mapped against the CGEA and VCAL curricula. The enhanced Implementation Guide includes best practice examples for delivering the Big Deal Program as well as additional hands-on activities and numeracy resources.
There will be financial reimbursement for those teachers and centres/institutions involved in the Big Deal project. Involvement in the Phase 2 ‘rollout’ involves:
* attendance at a full-day training session (Friday 24 April or Tuesday 5 May)
* delivery of the gambling education program during Term 2 or Term 3
* participation in evaluation surveys/sessions.
If you would like to be involved in the project, or would like more information, please contact Jean Evans, Project Co-ordinator, at jeane@cae.edu.au or ph 0422 163 450.
